Police – Training of Trainers
The Fair & Impartial Policing Training of Trainers (TOT) Program allows teams of trainers, from academies and other law enforcement training organizations, to learn to implement both the recruit/patrol officers’ and first-line supervisors’ curricula. This 2.0 day TOT “walks” trainers through every aspect of the Fair & Impartial Policing Training Program and provides opportunities to “practice” teaching the modules of both curricula.
At the conclusion of the TOT, trainers will be able to:
- Understand and effectively communicate the science of implicit bias and the fact that it cans impact on what we perceive/see and can (unless prevented) impact on what we do;
- Understand and effectively communicate that fair & impartial policing leads to effective policing; and
- Use the Fair & Impartial Policing Training curricula to teach academy recruits/patrol officers and first-line supervisors to (1) recognize their conscious and implicit biases; (2) implement “controlled” (unbiased) behavioral responses; and (3) promote fair & impartial policing in their daily work.
Trainers, who successfully complete the Training-of-Trainer course (TOT), will be certified and licensed to train the copyrighted FIP curricula in their agencies or academies for a period of three years from date of certification.
