Fire/EMS – Online Training for Line Personnel

(3 hours, 25 attendees)

This course incorporates training content from FIP’s Fire/EMS Line-Level curriculum and presents it in an engaging online environment.  At the completion of this online course, attendees will:

  • Understand that even well-intentioned people have biases,
  • Understand that implicit biases can impact both perceptions and behavior, both within and outside of their professional duties,
  • Understand that fair and impartial behavior produces just, safe, and effective decision making and actions,
  • Implement skills to reduce and manage their biases, and
  • Understand the concepts of diversity and inclusion and how they can bring great value to organizations.

Training modules include a variety of interactive exercises, illustrative case studies that highlight key concepts, opportunities for training participants to reflect on how they might respond in a variety of circumstances, periodic check-ins that reinforce important training concepts, and end-of-module tests to assess participants’ understanding of the information.
