Fire/EMS – Line Personnel

(4 hours, 30 attendees)

FIP’s training program for Fire and EMS agencies includes specialized content to address the specific duties of these first responders. This course incorporates the core content of FIP’s curricula and provides examples, scenarios, and research related to the fire and emergency medical services professions. At the completion of this course, attendees will:

  • Understand that even well-intentioned people have biases, 
  • Understand that implicit biases can impact both perceptions and behavior, both within and outside of their professional duties, 
  • Understand that fair and impartial behavior produces just, safe, and effective decision making and actions, and
  • Implement skills to reduce and manage their biases.
